Imagine this. After traveling for miles, you finally get to see your long distance partner. You both decide to go to the movies. You’ve selected a good movie to watch. You’ve got the pop-corn. The lights begin to dim and you both fall silent.

Does anyone else see the problem with this picture?

So you may be lucky enough to get a full weekend together, or maybe just a few hours, however long you are planning to spend with your partner, choosing a date where you are both silent for the entire time is NOT a very good idea.



A better idea would be to chose some dates where you can chat and bond with one another. If you really think hard, i'm sure there are loads of great dates you can have. But incase you are struggling, we have outlined our favourites below.

Star Gazing

Drive about 20 minutes away from the bright lights. Take a blanket and some warm chocolate.. For the true astronomers, there is an iphone application called "Star Walk" where you can track the constellations and stars. By doing things like this, it will give you a fantastic opportunity to speak about your future together and really develop your trust in the relationship.

Ice Skating

An outing to the rink can be one of the most fun of all. As you skate around you will find your self grabbing your lovers hands. You may fall over a little if it’s your first time. But even the professionals fall over now and then. Gentlemen, always remember to offer your girl a hand when she is getting up. And Ladies, please don't giggle too much when he falls. This date can get rather physical and pretty soon I'm sure you'll be pretending to fall just so that you can grab onto your partner.

Walking

Pack some sandwiches, a map, and spend the day with each other in the great outdoors. Be sure you take a camera for those perfect picture moments, and remember to carry a makeshift first aid kit and plenty of liquids to drink. With this date you will develop your abilities to make good decisions together.

Aquarium

If you have an aquarium in your city or town, this can be a great place to go to. Chances are during the day time it will be quite quiet and it will offer some spectacular sights of fish, penguins, and even dolphins whizzing through the water. You could sit all day and chat with each other, learning about the animals, and also learning more about each other.

Dinner Date

It doesn't have to be extremely expensive, although it can if you want. I am sure your sweetheart would love it if you made a meal for them. No matter where you choose to have your dinner date, nothing is greater than eating with candles and a rose on the table. And gentlemen, let me give you some guidance. A woman just loves it when you cook for them. Some form of pasta is best for me. Just remember spaghetti isn’t just for two dogs to enjoy.
